Built-in wine cellars - La Sommelière

Built-in wine cellars are an ideal solution for wine lovers who want to integrate an elegant and functional storage area into their home, without compromising on available space. Designed to blend harmoniously with the layout of the kitchen or any other space, these wine cellars combine advanced technology with meticulous design, providing an optimal environment for maturing and preserving wine. They stand out for their ability to fit discreetly into existing furniture, while providing effective temperature and humidity management, crucial for maintaining the quality and taste of wines.

La Sommelière's built-in wine cellars come in three main types to meet the varied needs of wine lovers: under-counter service cellars, built-in column cellars and large built-in cellars.

Why choose a built-in wine cellar?

One of the main advantages of a built-in wine cellar is that it blends harmoniously into the layout of your kitchen or other fitted/furnished areas of your home. Unlike freestanding, free-standing wine cellars, built-in models can be installed in cavities designed for household appliances, offering an elegant, uncluttered look.

Built-in wine cellars are particularly well suited to limited spaces. By integrating into existing structures, they avoid floor clutter and maximise the use of available space. It's an ideal solution for small kitchens or flats where every square metre counts.

Built-in wine cellars offer advanced temperature control, essential for the proper preservation and ageing of wine. They maintain constant conditions, protecting your wines from temperature and humidity variations that can alter their quality.

These cellars are designed for easy, convenient access. Placed at hand-height or under a worktop, they allow quick access to your favourite wines, which is particularly practical when preparing meals or entertaining guests.

In contrast to free-standing wine cellars that cool through the outside walls and require installation with a minimum 15 cm gap between the cellar and any surrounding object or furniture; Built-in wine cellars are equipped with a front ventilation system designed to work effectively in confined niche-type spaces. This ensures that the appliance operates correctly even when it is recessed and surrounded by furniture or other appliances.

What type of built-in wine cellar should I choose?

Variety of models and capacities: There is a wide variety of built-in wine cellars in terms of size, storage capacity and functionality. Whether you're a serious wine collector or an occasional wine lover, you can find a model to suit your specific needs.

Built-in Service Cellar Under Worktop :

These cellars are designed to fit under a worktop and come in a range of formats to suit the kitchen, from a standard spice drawer to a classic 60 cm unit, similar in size to a dishwasher. They generally have a capacity of between 7 and 50 bottles, making them ideal for wine lovers or everyday use.

Elles offrent un accès facile et rapide au vin, avec des températures réglables adaptées au service. Ces caves sont parfaites pour garder à portée de main des vins prêts à être dégustés à la température idéale.

Their elegant, unobtrusive design complements the style of the kitchen, without taking up any extra space.

Built-in wine cellar :

These cellars are designed to fit into a wall unit and come in a range of formats, including standard-sized appliances such as microwaves and ovens, making them easy to integrate into any kitchen. This allows bottles to be displayed in full view, making them easier to organise and access, while enhancing the aesthetics of the kitchen and the wine selection.

From around 20 to 40 bottles in general, some models are suitable in larger formats and for certain spaces and larger storage needs.

Large integrated cellars for ageing :

These larger cellars can store more bottles. They are designed for serious wine lovers, professionals or those who wish to age their wine over a long period in specific spaces.

They offer one or more temperature zones, which is crucial for bringing to temperature and ageing different types of wine under specific conditions.

These cellars feature specific ventilation systems to ensure adequate air circulation and even temperature, even in larger built-in spaces.

Despite their size, these cellars are designed to blend aesthetically into the living space, and often offer two types of installation (built-in and free-standing) to adapt to changes in your interior configuration.
